For nearly two decades Ron Stearns (guitar, bass, and mandolin) and Bill Erickson (guitar and dobro) have been writing and performing together. In 2017 Mark Kingen (stand-up bass, electric bass, and electric guitar) and Gery Kohler (drums and percussion) joined with them to form Ten O’Clock Hill. Both Mark and Gery have played in various bands around the Portland area over the past thirty years.
Throughout 2018 – 2019 the band worked on their first CD titled “Good to Go.” The project is a collection of twelve original songs that span across the Folk, Americana, Country, and Rock genres. The project is a true labor of love. The album can be streamed from for more than thirty sites and can be purchased on such sites as CD baby and iTunes.
One song from the CD, ”The Writing on the Wall,” has aired on a radio station in California. KGW, a local Portland TV station, used a version of “My Pet Peeve” on their sunrise show. Bill and Ron were asked to write a couple of verses to be used on a segment called “Driving Me Crazy.” The band wound up in a video that was aired on July 19, 2019.
